Types of Hair Transplants

Hair transplants are performed using various methods, each tailored to the individual's specific condition. There are several techniques available, some of which include:

1. FUE Hair Transplant (Follicular Unit Extraction): This method involves extracting individual follicular units from a healthy area and implanting them into micro-incisions made in the recipient area. The hair follicles are extracted using a motorized punch or manually with micro-forceps without any hand intervention, and then collected in a small cylindrical container or placed in a petri dish using suction. This method does not require stitches and results in less pain. Additionally, it requires fewer grafts.

2. FUT Hair Transplant (Follicular Unit Transplantation): This method, commonly used for treating baldness, involves the surgeon harvesting grafts using thin strips of tissue, known as a flap. Since the time between harvesting and implantation of the grafts is minimal, the quality of the transplanted hair is high. Typically, the grafts are taken from the back of the head.

3. DHI Hair Transplant (Direct Hair Implantation): This is considered the most advanced and up-to-date technique. It does not require incisions or the creation of uniform grooves with precise depth. However, this method is not recommended for everyone, and a consultation with a hair transplant doctor is essential before proceeding.
